Investors: Afghanistan Has Potential to Compete in Global Perfume Market

Several domestic investors involved in establishing flower farms have announced that Afghanistan’s floriculture industry is growing and has the capacity to compete with leading countries in perfume production.

According to these investors, after setting up flower farms in several provinces, they have been able to export the produced essences for use in the perfume industry to global markets. They believe that the quality of flowers grown in Afghanistan meets the necessary standards to compete internationally.

These economic actors emphasize that with proper investment, the establishment of processing infrastructure, and better access to global markets, Afghanistan can gain a significant position in flower and perfume production alongside countries like France and Bulgaria.

Agriculture experts also state that Afghanistan’s climatic diversity provides a suitable environment for cultivating various aromatic flowers; however, the lack of regular support, export challenges, and shortage of financial facilities are major obstacles for this industry. They call for clear planning and practical support from the Taliban administration to develop this sector and increase the country’s non-oil exports.
