2026 National University Entrance Exam Begins in 15 Afghan Provinces

The 2026 national university entrance exam (Kankor) started today, Thursday, May 14, in 15 provinces across Afghanistan. The exam is being held simultaneously in the provinces of Maidan Wardak, Parwan, Ghazni, Kunar, Baghlan, Faryab, Badghis, Logar, Kapisa, Paktika, Herat, Sar-e Pul, Uruzgan, Ghor, and Badakhshan.

Kankor, as the nationwide university entrance examination, annually brings together thousands of candidates across the country. Participants compete for admission to public universities and some private higher education institutions.

Conducting the exam simultaneously in multiple provinces is part of the phased nationwide Kankor process, which is organized and administered in several rounds each year.
