Three Kandahar Residents Die from Toxic Gas in Septic Tank Cleanup

The Kandahar Police Command announced that last night in the Khakrez district, three individuals lost their lives while cleaning a septic tank due to inhalation of toxic gases.

According to this Taliban-administered authority, the incident occurred when the victims were engaged in emptying and cleaning a sewage pit and suffocated as a result of the accumulation of poisonous gases inside the tank.

The Kandahar Police Command has urged residents to use protective gear and safety equipment during septic tank cleanups to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Septic tanks in many residential areas are traditionally constructed, and without proper ventilation, dangerous gases can accumulate and pose a serious threat to people’s lives.
