Red Cross Supports 300 Farmers in Uruzgan with Agricultural Equipment and Training

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has announced its support for 300 farmers in Uruzgan province by providing agricultural equipment and technical training on crop storage. These efforts aim to reduce food waste and strengthen food security in rural areas.
According to the published information, metal silos, wheat harvesters, and tarpaulins have been distributed to these farmers. They have also received training in standard post-harvest crop storage methods to prevent spoilage and loss of their produce.
In many rural areas of Afghanistan, the lack of proper storage facilities leads to the destruction of a portion of agricultural products after harvest. Providing standard silos and technical training can play a crucial role in preserving crops and meeting the food needs of families.
Uruzgan province is primarily an agricultural region where residents rely directly on income from crop cultivation and harvest. Supporting farmers in such areas can positively impact the economic conditions of families and strengthen local community food security.
