Taliban Court Declares 12,505 Jeribs of Land as Emirate Property in Khost Province

The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice has announced that a special court handling cases of usurped lands in the central zone has ruled that 12,505 jeribs of land in the districts of Ismail Khel and Manduzai in Khost province belong to the Emirate. According to the ministry, this decision was made after reviewing documents, land office records, and information from relevant agencies.

According to a statement, the land is located in the village of Sahara Manduzai and includes one cadastral plot. Previously, the Commission to Prevent Land Usurpation and Recover Usurped Lands had investigated the matter, but due to ownership claims by several individuals, the case was referred to the special court under Article 17 of the relevant law.

The Ministry of Justice added that the court, after a detailed review of the claimants’ documents and evidence submitted by the commission, as well as considering the cadastral registration, determined that the land is high-altitude and non-agricultural, officially registered and surveyed in the name of the state.

The court’s ruling also directed the Commission to Prevent Land Usurpation to carry out subsequent procedures according to established principles. However, in recent years, the process of adjudicating ownership claims has consistently raised questions from local residents and human rights organizations. Transparency and respect for individual rights in such decisions remain key concerns expected to be clearly guaranteed.
