London Considers Banning Pro-Palestine Demonstrations Amid Rise in Anti-Semitic Incidents

London police have announced that, following an increase in reported anti-Semitic incidents, there is a possibility that all pro-Palestine marches and gatherings in the city may be banned. This decision comes as pro-Palestinian protests have been regularly held across various parts of London in recent months.
According to British media reports, Laurence Taylor, head of London’s counter-terrorism police, stated that all events and gatherings nationwide will be reviewed considering the changed threat level and security risks. He emphasized that assessments will be based on the current security situation.
Earlier, the UK government banned the group “Action for Palestine,” one of the largest organizations advocating for Palestinian rights in the country, in support of the Israeli regime. British authorities have listed this group as a banned organization due to alleged terrorism-related activities.
Following this decision, several members of the group were arrested and imprisoned, a move that has prompted reactions and concerns among advocates of freedom of expression and the right to peaceful assembly. Critics argue that restricting pro-Palestine marches could impact the right to peaceful civil protest in Britain, though security officials describe these measures as part of protective precautions.
