Taliban Health Minister Visits Balkh Hospital, Urges Improved Medical Services

Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali, the Taliban-appointed Minister of Public Health, visited the provincial hospital in Balkh province and emphasized the provision of quality healthcare services. According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health to Bakhtar Agency, during his visit, the minister met with several patients, listened to their concerns, and issued directives to health workers on improving service quality. He stated that treating patients is the fundamental responsibility of the health sector, and health workers must treat patients professionally and with human values, delivering timely and effective services. This visit comes amid frequent complaints in recent years from residents of various provinces about shortages of facilities, medicines, and equipment in state hospitals—issues that require practical solutions beyond administrative recommendations from the Taliban authorities.
