Kunduz Governor Meets Tajikistan Embassy Delegation to Discuss Trade and Border Cooperation

The Information and Culture Department of Kunduz province announced that Nasrullah Mati, the Taliban-appointed governor of the province, met today with a delegation from the Tajikistan embassy to discuss expanding economic and trade relations between the two sides.
The meeting, held at the governor’s office in Kunduz, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, improving border management, and implementing agricultural and economic projects across the province. Due to its geographical position in northeastern Afghanistan and its border with Tajikistan, Kunduz is considered an important area for cross-border exchanges.
According to the information provided, other key discussion points included facilitating movement, increasing trade volume, attracting investment, and launching joint projects. Both sides also emphasized the continuation of such meetings to follow up on commitments and enhance coordination.
Despite the announcement of these efforts, no details have been released regarding the practical framework, timeline, or enforcement guarantees for the proposed projects—factors that make the success of these commitments dependent on transparency and clear planning.
