Unprecedented Surge in Attacks by Israeli Settlers on Palestinians in the West Bank

New statistical reports indicate an unprecedented rise in attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7, 2023. According to data from the Palestinian Data Center ‘Ma’aty,’ 41 Palestinians have been killed by settlers during this period, highlighting an escalation of violence in the region.

The statistics show that 17 of the fatalities occurred in 2026, 16 in 2025, and 8 in 2024. These figures demonstrate that the trend of casualties has not only continued but has also persisted into the current year.

During the same timeframe, the total recorded settler attacks reached 8,691. Of these, 1,877 attacks were registered from the beginning of 2026 until April 20, 3,818 in 2025, 2,286 in 2024, and 710 from October 7 to the end of 2023.

Experts warn that the continuation of this situation could have serious implications for the conditions on the ground in the West Bank and increase the risk of expanding tensions. The rise in settler attacks in recent years has consistently been a major concern for human rights organizations.

In the latest incident, local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Al-Mughayyer northeast of Ramallah and targeted the funeral procession of two Palestinian martyrs. The ceremony was held for Jihad Abu Na’im and Aws Al-Nassan, who were killed the previous day.

Reports state that Israeli soldiers attacked the attendees of the funeral, firing tear gas towards the homes of the two martyrs, escalating tensions in the village. Following this, severe clashes broke out between local residents and Israeli forces.

Such events continue despite calls from many international organizations to reduce violence and ensure the protection of civilians in the occupied territories. However, published statistics reveal that the violence trend is still on the rise.
