Taliban Holds Meeting in Nangarhar to Improve Migrant Transfer Process

The Nangarhar Provincial Transport Department, under the leadership of Mullah Zabihullah Mujahid, announced that a joint meeting was held with representatives from several local departments to discuss the safe transfer of migrants. The meeting aimed to address existing challenges in the migrant transfer process and to enhance coordination among the involved agencies.

According to officials, the session focused on preventing issues for migrants and drivers at the Torkham camp, with discussions on strategies to improve the transfer process. Emphasis was also placed on better coordination among relevant departments to ensure the movement of migrants proceeds without difficulties.

Torkham is one of the key border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan, frequently witnessing heavy migrant traffic. In recent years, congestion, lack of facilities, and poor management at this area have repeatedly caused problems for migrants, especially vulnerable families.

Despite such meetings held by the Taliban administration, many migrants continue to complain about inadequate services, delays in transfers, and insufficient basic facilities at the camps. It is expected that local officials will take concrete and effective measures, in addition to conducting meetings, to improve the migrants’ situation.
