Taliban Censors Images of Russian Women Researchers During Moscow Visit

The Taliban Ministry of Agriculture has released photos of its delegation’s visit to a research center in Moscow, but the faces of Russian women researchers in the images have been censored. This act once again highlights the restrictions imposed by the Taliban administration on the presence and representation of women.
According to a report published on the ministry’s website on Saturday, April 17, the delegation visited the “Research Center for Quality of Agricultural and Livestock Products” in Russia and participated in a technical meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues related to improving the quality of agricultural and livestock products.
The delegation, led by Chancellor Uthmani, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture for the Taliban administration, traveled to Moscow. So far, no further details have been released regarding the practical outcomes or any possible agreements from the visit.
Previously, the Taliban administration has also censored images of women in similar official domestic and international meetings. This action has drawn widespread criticism related to the restrictions imposed on women and their exclusion from public spheres.
