Pakistan Reaffirms Continued Mediation Role for Regional Peace in Meeting with Iranian Delegation

Pakistan’s Prime Minister emphasized during a meeting with an Iranian delegation in Islamabad that the country will continue its mediation role in good faith to strengthen peace and stability in the region. He underscored his government’s commitment to achieving effective results in line with regional and global interests.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was held with a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament. Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, was also part of the delegation.

Topics related to the state of peace at regional and global levels were discussed and exchanged during the session. Shahbaz Sharif, while appreciating the presence of the Iranian delegation in the Islamabad talks, stressed Pakistan’s readiness to expedite the dialogue process and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Alongside the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister, General Asim Munir, and Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, were also present at the meeting. Officials from both sides emphasized the continuation of consultations within the framework of regional cooperation.
