US F-35 Fighter Jet Forced to Make Emergency Landing After Iranian Air Defense Strike

Media outlets have reported that a US stealth F-35 fighter jet was forced to make an emergency landing at a US military base in West Asia after being hit by Iranian air defenses. According to informed sources, the incident occurred while the aircraft was on a mission over Iran.
CNN, citing two knowledgeable sources, reported that the fighter jet managed to land at the base after being targeted. No further details have been released regarding the extent of possible damage or the status of the flight crew.
Hawkins, spokesperson for the US Central Command (Centcom), confirmed the incident, stating that the advanced fifth-generation fighter was on a “combat mission over Iran” and subsequently forced to make an emergency landing.
Centcom also stated that investigations to clarify the exact cause of the incident are ongoing. So far, Iranian officials have not made any official comments on the matter.
