Two Medicine Manufacturing Plants Licensed in Balkh with $8 Million Investment

Officials from the Balkh Directorate of Industry and Commerce have announced the issuance of operational licenses for two new medicine manufacturing factories to two Afghan investors. According to this directorate, which operates under Taliban administration, the total investment value of these two projects amounts to eight million dollars, and practical work is set to begin soon.

Based on the information provided, one of the factories will be established with a three million dollar investment, while the other will be set up with five million dollars. The stated goal of launching these factories is to produce medicines domestically within the country.

Balkh is one of the important provinces in northern Afghanistan, with its capital, Mazar-i-Sharif, being one of the country’s commercial and industrial hubs. The establishment of medicine manufacturing plants in this province could impact the availability of locally produced medicines for residents.

However, details about the types of medicines to be produced, the annual production capacity, and the number of potential job opportunities related to these projects have not yet been released.
