Hundreds of Factories Begin Operations in Herat Industrial Park in 2025
The spokesperson for Herat province has announced that approximately 350 large and small manufacturing factories have started their operations in the Herat Industrial Park during the year 2025. Local officials regard this development as a sign of expanding industrial activity in the province.
Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi, in a message posted on the social media platform X, cited comprehensive support for industrialists, facilitation for investors, and the simplification of licensing procedures as key factors behind the growth of industrial activities.
According to him, the expansion of these factories can play a significant role in strengthening domestic production and creating employment opportunities for hundreds of people—an issue of considerable importance given the widespread unemployment in Herat.
However, economic experts consistently emphasize that the sustainability of such projects depends on economic stability, market access, and transparent policies of the Taliban administration. These issues have faced serious challenges in recent years and require clear responses and planning from the responsible authorities.
