Taliban Ministry Completes Service Contracts for Afghan Pilgrims in Mecca and Medina

The Taliban’s Ministry of Guidance, Hajj and Endowments has announced the completion of contracts related to accommodation, food, transportation, and other essential services for Afghan pilgrims in Mecca, Medina, and other holy sites.
According to Qari Mohammad Ibrahim Muneeb, the ministry’s spokesperson, fully equipped buildings with modern facilities near the Holy Mosque and in the ‘Mahbas Al-Jinn’ area of Mecca have been allocated for all pilgrims. Officials state that this measure aims to reduce travel difficulties and provide relative comfort for the visitors.
Additionally, based on the information provided, in Medina, all buildings and special accommodations for pilgrims in the central area connected to the Prophet’s Mosque have been rented to facilitate easier access to this sacred site.
The ministry has further added that after precise calculations of expenses, the final cost of this year’s Hajj will be officially announced to the public in the coming days, and the registration process across the country will begin. This topic has annually been met with criticisms regarding transparency, management, and the financial capacity of citizens, and it is expected that the Taliban administration will act transparently and responsively in this regard.
