Tel Aviv Investigates Claims of Hack on Netanyahu Chief of Staff’s Phone

Israeli media sources, citing an official from the prime minister’s office, reported that authorities are examining claims regarding the hacking of Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff’s mobile phone. This marks Tel Aviv’s first official response to the news.
According to Al Jazeera, the source, without providing further details, stated that the relevant bodies are assessing the accuracy and scope of the published allegations. So far, no official results from these investigations have been announced.
Earlier, a cyber group known as “Hanzala” claimed on the social media platform X that it gained access to the mobile phone of Tzachi Braverman, Netanyahu’s chief of staff. The group asserted that Braverman’s iPhone 16 Pro Max had been hacked and that the breach was not limited to recent times.
In its messages, Hanzala claimed access to information including encrypted conversations, covert transactions, and instances of abuse of power, threatening that some of this information might be disclosed. Israeli officials have not yet specifically responded to the content of these claims.
