Hezbollah MP: Israel Remains Lebanon’s Permanent Enemy Amid Ongoing Violations

Ali Fayyad, a senior member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in Lebanon’s parliament, stated at a ceremony commemorating the country’s southern martyrs that the Lebanese people consider Israel their permanent enemy. He emphasized that ongoing Israeli aggressions have seriously violated Lebanon’s national sovereignty.

Referring to recent Israeli attacks, especially the incident that resulted in the death of a Lebanese army soldier, Fayyad stressed that the blood of the army forces and resistance members is intertwined in defending Lebanon’s independence, freedom, and territorial integrity.

Fayyad said Israel continues to occupy parts of Lebanese territory, violates the country’s sovereignty, targets young people, and uses military and political pressure to empty border areas of their inhabitants and seize control over Lebanon’s resources.

The parliamentarian added that the resistance and the Lebanese army, based on national and human rights and in accordance with internationally accepted principles, demand Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese soil, an end to the conflicts, the release of prisoners, and the reconstruction of destroyed homes.

In another part of his remarks, he criticized Lebanese officials for their passivity in the face of this situation and called for transparency regarding the nature of negotiations with Israel. According to Fayyad, any concessions without guarantees will weaken Lebanon’s position, and officials must adhere to national principles and the country’s public interests.
