Afghanistan’s Chargé d’Affaires in Tehran Visits Chabahar Port to Explore Trade Opportunities

Maulvi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Afghanistan Embassy in Tehran, appointed by the Taliban administration, visited the Shahid Beheshti Port of Chabahar and the Negin Makran Petrochemical Complex during his official trip to southern Iran.
According to the Afghanistan Embassy in Tehran, officials at these facilities shared information about transit capacities, investment opportunities, and avenues for economic cooperation through Chabahar Port.
Port and petrochemical complex officials also emphasized their readiness to cooperate with Afghan traders within the framework of the port’s existing capacities. Chabahar is recognized as one of the key transit routes along Iran’s southern coast.
This visit comes amid wide-ranging economic and political restrictions faced by Afghanistan under Taliban rule. Experts consistently stress the need for transparency, professional management, and safeguarding the genuine interests of Afghan traders and residents in such economic collaborations.
