Four Arrested for Gold and Cash Robbery in Khost and Herat

The Taliban-run Interior Ministry has announced that criminal police forces in the provinces of Khost and Herat have arrested four individuals on charges of involvement in the theft of gold and cash.

According to the ministry, police in Khost arrested a man during an inspection operation in the city. The suspect was found in possession of three gold rings, a gold necklace, a quantity of stolen cash, and a firearm. He is accused of breaking into a residence in the 1200-Family district of Khost during the night and stealing the mentioned items.

Meanwhile, in the western province of Herat, three more individuals were detained in connection with the theft of gold and cash in different parts of the city. Officials said that following preliminary investigations, the suspects have been handed over to judicial authorities.

Despite a rise in armed robberies and general insecurity in Afghan cities, the Taliban administration has yet to implement effective and lasting measures to ensure public safety and prevent criminal activity. Citizens have also voiced concern over arbitrary law enforcement and the lack of a transparent judicial system.
