Taliban Seize 20 Tons of Smuggled Goods in Nimroz Operation

Taliban officials have announced the discovery and seizure of approximately 20,000 kilograms of smuggled goods from ten trucks during an operation in the Khajo area of Charborjak district, Nimroz province.

According to a report from the Taliban governor’s media office in Nimroz, the confiscated shipment included chocolates, medicines, and agricultural materials. The smugglers reportedly intended to transport these goods from Nimroz to other parts of the country.

The police commander of Charborjak district stated that the operation aimed to curb organized smuggling networks, with investigations ongoing to identify the main perpetrators.

The Taliban administration in Nimroz thanked its security forces for their efforts and warned that it will not allow the province to become a transit route for illegal goods. However, shortages of resources, the absence of an independent judicial system, and widespread corruption cast doubt on the Taliban’s claimed actions.
