Taliban Prevents Entry of Vehicles Without Official Documents Into Kabul

The Public Security Directorate of the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced that, in coordination with traffic police, new checkpoints have been established at the gates of Kabul city to prevent vehicles lacking official documents from entering.

According to the report from this agency, a large number of vehicles traveling from provinces to Kabul without legal documents were stopped during operations. At the Arghandi gate alone, 381 vehicles without proper documentation were identified and denied entry into the capital.

The Taliban administration has increased patrols and checkpoints targeting vehicles without documents, while the nationwide vehicle registration process faces numerous challenges. Vehicle owners complain about the lack of a transparent mechanism and the Taliban administration’s failure to facilitate the documentation process.

The expansion of increased controls and strict transportation measures in cities like Kabul has raised questions about the security priorities and how the Taliban administration is addressing urban and transportation challenges.
