Taliban Administration Holds Competitive ‘Doha Agreement’ Exam in Panjshir

The Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture in Panjshir province has announced the organization of a competitive exam titled the “Doha Agreement.” The test was conducted with the participation of around 200 students in the Abshar district, in collaboration with the online media outlet “Al-Mersad” and under the supervision of the Taliban Intelligence Department.
According to the announcement from this department, prizes were awarded to the top ten performers in the exam. The specific objective of the test, according to the Taliban organizers, was not disclosed; however, its title refers to the controversial agreement between the Taliban and the United States.
The Doha Agreement was signed in February 2020 between the Taliban and the U.S. government in Qatar’s capital. This agreement led to the release of thousands of Taliban prisoners from the former Afghan government’s custody, many of whom returned to the battlefield. Additionally, based on this accord, Washington reduced its political, financial, and military support for the previous government, paving the way for the collapse of the republic.
The holding of such an exam by the Taliban administration, especially in a resistant province like Panjshir and under the supervision of security agencies, signals a clear attempt to legitimize the imposed realities following the agreement, which has caused extensive damage to the country’s educational and political future.
