UNICEF Establishes Support Centers for Children Affected by Earthquake in Afghanistan

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced the establishment of child-friendly centers in areas of Afghanistan affected by recent earthquakes, as part of its ongoing humanitarian assistance to children in the country.

These dedicated centers aim to provide safe spaces for vulnerable children, offering play, education, and psychosocial support to help improve their mental and emotional well-being.

UNICEF stressed that during emergencies such as earthquakes, children often lose their sense of security, daily routines, and proper environments for growth. The child-friendly centers are designed to help restore a sense of normalcy and support their recovery.

This initiative comes as the Taliban administration has failed to adequately address the basic needs of children, particularly in disaster-hit regions, raising concerns that the country’s next generation may face even deeper crises if the situation continues.
