According to the council, these groups have not only increased their combat capabilities but have also expanded their activities across the region.

The statement from the meeting emphasized that the current situation requires strengthening joint intelligence and security cooperation among members to effectively combat terrorism and extremism. Russian media have also reported that terrorist groups based in Afghanistan and Syria have significantly enhanced their military capacities; a development they believe threatens the security of SCO member states.

In response to these claims, several military experts argue that such concerns should be raised based on clear and verifiable evidence. They stress that Afghanistan has not posed a threat to other countries over the past five years but regard regional cooperation and engagement as essential to address these concerns.

Nonetheless, the Taliban administration has yet to respond to the recent statements from the SCO Council. Previously, it has denied the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and asserted that Afghan soil will not be used to threaten any country. However, ongoing regional apprehensions indicate that issues of transparency, security cooperation, and accountability remain fundamental challenges in Afghanistan’s relations with its neighbors.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization warns that terrorist groups in Afghanistan threaten member states, urging enhanced regional security cooperation amid ongoing concerns.

[17,4

post-9995","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-politics
["GET
