Ahmed al-Shara, the former commander of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra and the self-proclaimed president of Syria known as Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, stated that his country currently has no official relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and that Damascus’s policy is based on avoiding involvement in regional conflicts.<\/p>\n
He made these remarks during a dialogue session at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London, known as Chatham House. According to him, Syria’s current priority is to maintain internal security and prevent the country from being drawn into external tensions.<\/p>\n
