Rahmatullah Nabil, former head of national security, has stated that while the Taliban administration has restricted girls’ education and women’s employment for over four years, many Afghan men have distanced themselves from the responsibility of defending women’s rights or have reduced the issue to a political tool.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, March 28, Nabil expressed his appreciation for the “endurance and courage” of Afghan women in a message, saying that women are at the forefront of the struggle for their fundamental rights. He emphasized that the Taliban administration, by imposing extensive restrictions, has effectively denied women’s basic rights.<\/p>\n
According to him, depriving girls of education and women of work is only part of the policies that have limited women’s social presence in the country. These restrictions have drawn widespread domestic and international reactions but have so far not caused any change in the Taliban administration’s approach.<\/p>\n
The former head of national security also pointed out that in the current situation, the greatest burden of resistance against the Taliban falls on the women themselves; because, in his view, a significant portion of men have failed in their social and moral responsibility to support women’s rights.<\/p>\n
