Ataullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Information Minister, announced that during recent clashes between Pakistani forces and fighters from the Taliban and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), 663 members of these groups have been killed and more than 887 others wounded.<\/p>\n
On Friday, March 12, Tarar posted on the social media platform X that these figures pertain to casualties inflicted on the Taliban and TTP in the recent battles. According to him, 249 outposts were destroyed and another 44 outposts were captured and subsequently dismantled during the clashes.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani Information Minister further claimed that 224 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery equipment were destroyed in the operations. He added that Pakistani forces targeted 70 locations linked to \u201carmed individuals and their support infrastructure\u201d inside Afghanistan through air strikes.<\/p>\n
In response, the Taliban administration stated that Pakistan\u2019s attacks last night targeted civilian facilities. They alleged that an aviation fuel depot belonging to Kam Air in Kandahar was damaged, resulting in casualties among civilians.<\/p>\n
Simultaneously, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) reported that in last night\u2019s attacks in Kabul\u2019s Pul-e-Charkhi area, four civilians were killed and 14 others, including women and children, were injured.<\/p>\n
The escalation of cross-border clashes and air strikes continues amid growing concerns from residents of the affected areas over civilian casualties.
