The Information and Culture Department of Herat has announced the official commencement of the Herat Cement Project, which is expected to be completed and enter production within the next 14 months.<\/p>\n
According to a released statement, the head of the Golbahar Group of companies, along with engineers involved in the project, met with the governor of Herat and confirmed that the execution phase has started and the project will be completed within the scheduled timeframe.<\/p>\n
Officials stated that once completed, the factory will have a daily production capacity of 3,000 tons of cement and will be able to meet approximately 60% of the country’s domestic demand. It was also claimed that the project\u2019s launch will create job opportunities for thousands of people.<\/p>\n
Herat is considered a key economic province in the west of the country, and establishing such projects can help reduce dependence on imported construction materials.
