In an email from December 2010, Andrew described the document as a “confidential report prepared by the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Helmand.” The report was created concurrent with his visit to the province, during a period when British forces were stationed there as part of their military mission.<\/p>\n
The document also referenced significant deposits of marble, iridium, and thorium, as well as the potential presence of oil and gas, noting the “possibility of low-cost extraction.” According to official UK guidelines, trade representatives are required to keep sensitive political and economic information confidential.<\/p>\n
