Responding to reporters\u2019 questions about claims of shelling at Putin\u2019s official residence in Novgorod region, Trump said, “We do not believe such an attack took place.” According to him, an event occurred in an area relatively close to the residence, but it was not directly connected to an attack on Putin\u2019s location.<\/p>\n
The US president further emphasized that Washington hopes Russia and Ukraine can find a way to resolve the conflict and prevent further escalation of tensions.<\/p>\n
These remarks come after Trump had earlier expressed shock over news of the attack during a phone call with his Russian counterpart, calling the act unusual.
