The authority stated that this action was carried out based on the ruling of the local court.

According to the court’s statement, this amount of hair was identified and seized by Taliban security forces. District court officials said that collecting and storing human hair without a permit is considered illegal and similar cases will be dealt with in the future.

The Taliban administration had previously banned the sale of women’s and girls’ hair across Afghanistan. This ban comes at a time when, in past years, numerous women and girls, especially poor residents, were forced to sell their hair to meet basic living needs.

Women’s natural hair in Afghanistan is economically valuable in the global beauty industry due to its thickness and quality, usually used for making hair extensions and natural wigs. Reports indicate that these hairs were often smuggled out of the country, particularly to Pakistan, through unofficial channels.

Critics argue that the Taliban’s harsh approach to this practice, without providing alternative economic opportunities, has increased financial pressure on women and blocked one of their few sources of income. This issue once again highlights the responsibility of the Taliban administration regarding the economic conditions and social rights of women.

Taliban court burns 65 kg of human hair in Kabul after confiscation, amid ban on selling women’s hair and rising economic pressure on Afghan women.

[17,8

post-4225","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-social-affairs
["GET
