The report states that Azam was captured in the border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>The UN Security Council identifies Sultan Aziz Azam as one of the key figures within ISIS-K, highlighting his significant role in the group\u2019s media and propaganda operations. The report notes that after joining ISIS, Azam became part of its central core and eventually emerged as one of its influential members.<\/p>\n<p>Azam has led the media division of ISIS-K since 2014, the year he joined the group. Prior to his involvement with ISIS, he graduated from Nangarhar University and worked as a journalist, managing a local radio station called \u201cHamisha Bahar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The UN report also reveals that before joining ISIS, Azam wrote short stories and published critical commentary about society and the government.
