The incident comes amid a surge in violence and insecurity that has sparked serious concern among residents in this western Afghan province.<\/p>\n<p>According to the same sources, this marks the second time the Sultani family has been targeted by such violent acts. Four years ago, the victim\u2019s brother, Hamid Sultani\u2014a well-known veteran of Herat\u2019s football scene\u2014was also murdered in a similar manner. These successive tragedies have cast a heavy shadow over the daily lives of local residents.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, at least two other Herat residents lost their lives in armed robbery-related incidents last week, highlighting the broader scope of the region\u2019s security crisis. Citizens of Herat have voiced deep concern and are calling on the Taliban administration to implement effective measures to curb the violence.
