Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed serious concern over recent reports suggesting that the United States plans to transfer a number of Afghan refugees to Pakistan without legal residency documents. The ministry has urged the US to adopt a responsible and measured approach in this matter.<\/p>\n
The ministry emphasized that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan considers protecting the rights of all its citizens a primary duty. It stated that every Afghan, wherever they are in the world, should be supported based on current laws, internationally accepted principles, and with respect for human dignity.<\/p>\n
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on the United States to make any decisions regarding the fate of Afghan refugees only in full coordination and based on bilateral agreements, with respect for the legitimate rights of individuals.<\/p>\n
The statement also stressed Afghanistan\u2019s readiness to engage and cooperate on the basis of mutual understanding and consideration of concerns from both parties. It warned that third countries should not trade the fate of foreign nationals for temporary gains nor disregard their rights and human dignity.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the ministry added that the Islamic Emirate is committed to cooperating for the dignified, safe, and voluntary return of its citizens and considers protecting their rights and security its responsibility.<\/p>\n
