While this trend presents opportunities for development, it also brings numerous challenges, including housing shortages, inadequate urban services, environmental problems, and weak infrastructure.

The UN programme has emphasized that extensive cooperation and sustainable planning to create safe, healthy, and livable cities for all citizens are more necessary than ever. With the Taliban administration responsible for managing cities, the absence of effective measures in this area could worsen Afghanistan’s already difficult social and environmental conditions.

These predictions were released on World Cities Day, underscoring the urgent need for reforms and coherent policymaking in urban development across Afghanistan. The UN programme has warned that without fundamental actions, challenges related to housing and infrastructure will seriously undermine the quality of urban life in Afghanistan.

UN predicts half of Afghanistan’s population will live in cities by 2060, highlighting urgent housing and infrastructure challenges.

[17,16,8

post-25092","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-secondary-headline","category-social-affairs
["GET
