Fresh developments in the West Bank have seen heavy clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian residents in the Dura area of Hebron province. Occupying troops, with a large presence and by blocking routes leading to the area, have besieged several districts.

According to reports, at least 300 Palestinian families in the Jaldeh area of Hebron are facing the threat of forced displacement. The mayor of Hebron said military raids to clear the densely populated Jaldeh and Deir Baha areas have caused widespread displacement.

Israeli forces also raided homes around the residence of a person involved in Friday’s intifada operation and evacuated dozens of houses. The forces have also besieged camps and residential areas such as al-Arroub and al-Shuyoukh and rearrested a number of previously freed prisoners.

An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that military attacks in the northern West Bank have spread to at least 15 areas, and dozens of Palestinians have been detained in these operations. Tensions escalated after six Israeli soldiers were wounded in an attack on a military checkpoint in Farsh al-Hawa.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Israeli regime, said a “big surprise” awaits the Palestinian Authority after ordering army attacks in the West Bank. These events once again show the intensification of the occupying regime’s repressive policies against the Palestinian people and their devastating human consequences.
