He stressed that sustainable stability in the region can only be achieved through Afghanistan’s gradual participation in regional integration processes.

The presence of Uzbek special representatives, including Ismatullah Irgashev, the president’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Rahmatullah Nurimbetov, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Norway, and Adil Ghaffarov, deputy director of the Institute of Advanced International Studies at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, added to the importance of the meeting. Vahabov described the move as a promising starting point for regular dialogue.

It should be noted that although Uzbekistan has not recognized the Taliban government, it maintains significant political and economic relations with the group. Norway has also continued contact with the Taliban since the group returned to power in 2021, but has stressed that these contacts do not amount to recognition of the Taliban administration.

Uzbekistan and Norway held talks in Oslo on Afghanistan, regional security, trade, energy and connectivity.

[17,6

post-24468","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-important-news","category-international
["GET
