Qatar then called for mediation and urged a halt to the planned operation, which was scheduled to take place the same night. As a result, Pakistan called off the mission.<\/p>\n<p>Dar stressed that Islamabad is fully capable of confronting threats originating from Afghan territory and warned that continued terrorist attacks should not lead to the perception that Pakistan is unable to defend itself. He also explicitly called on the Taliban administration to reconsider its stance and policies.<\/p>\n<p>Dar added that improving relations between the two countries depends on the Taliban administration severing ties with terrorist groups. He emphasized that without peace in Afghanistan, regional stability would remain out of reach.
