The ministry, while stressing the continuation of tireless efforts to reduce tensions, underlined the importance of maintaining security in the Strait of Hormuz as a key factor in regional stability.<\/p>\n<p>Without referring to the role of the United States in escalating tensions, Doha called on Iran to abide by international rules on freedom of navigation and to stop what it described as irresponsible attacks in the Strait of Hormuz. The statement also said that an internet shutdown could cause serious harm to all countries in the region, including Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Qatar\u2019s Foreign Ministry said these measures are aimed at preserving the region\u2019s security and calm, and described dialogue as the only effective way to achieve lasting stability.
