Former U.S. Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has condemned the beating of a woman at a campaign rally linked to the congressional midterm elections, after the woman called for the Jeffrey Epstein files to be released and pursued.<\/p>\n
In a post on the social media platform X, Greene asked since when the slogan “Release the Epstein files” had become an excuse for violence and whether the so-called MAGA movement supports violence against women.<\/p>\n
She said a video showed a woman wearing a shirt bearing the slogan “Release the Epstein files” at a Donald Trump rally, asking the U.S. president to release documents related to the case. According to Greene, while attendees chanted “USA,” several men affiliated with MAGA beat the woman.<\/p>\n
The former congresswoman, who had previously been a supporter of MAGA, described the incident as “disgusting and vile” and asked whether the woman deserved to be beaten for wearing the shirt or for disrupting Trump’s rally.<\/p>\n
Greene went on to accuse Trump and the Republican Party of encouraging violence against women, and described the MAGA movement as a “gross and creepy cult” that, in her view, does not represent Christian values.
