The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that four family health centres have recently been built in remote areas of Khost province, making it easier for residents to access essential health services.<\/p>\n
In a report released on Wednesday, 15 October, the agency said it has established a total of 57 family health centres across seven provinces of Afghanistan since 2023.<\/p>\n
According to the IOM, these centres have been built in different parts of the country with funding from the Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (STFA) and joint financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).<\/p>\n
The IOM added that the launch of these centres will help families who previously had to travel long distances to reach health services. The agency said the centres, in cooperation with United Nations agencies, cover part of the needs related to primary health care and maternal and newborn health services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
