The Taliban governor in Paktia has said that the regime\u2019s morality law has been implemented \u201c100%\u201d.<\/p>\n
Amid stepped-up oversight of the enforcement of the \u201cmorality law,\u201d Mehrullah Hamad, the Taliban governor in Paktia, said he had applied the law \u201c100%\u201d to all government employees in the province.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from the Taliban governor\u2019s office in Paktia, Hamad made the remarks at a regular meeting of the committee overseeing the implementation of the \u201cmorality law.\u201d He also said that people in Afghanistan, because of Taliban rule, were prepared to \u201clive according to Sharia and save themselves from the torment of the hereafter.\u201d<\/p>\n
The law on the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice is regarded as one of the strictest laws of the Taliban era since their return to power. At the order of Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, regular monitoring meetings chaired by governors are held in all provinces to enforce the law.<\/p>\n
According to the Taliban leader, enforcing the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice is considered one of the \u201cmost important responsibilities,\u201d and he has previously claimed that one of the special aims of the Taliban\u2019s war was the \u201cimplementation of the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice.\u201d<\/p>\n
