{"id":23316,"date":"2026-10-06T07:43:17","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T07:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/10\/06\/taliban-saudi-arabia-diplomatic-ties-kabul-2\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T07:43:17","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T07:43:17","slug":"taliban-saudi-arabia-diplomatic-ties-kabul-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atlaspress.news\/en\/2026\/10\/06\/taliban-saudi-arabia-diplomatic-ties-kabul-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Taliban Says Saudi Arabia Maintains Diplomatic Ties With Kabul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Taliban administration\u2019s office has said that Abdul Wasif, chief of staff to the prime minister, met on Monday at the presidential palace with Faisal bin Talq Al-Baqmi, Saudi Arabia\u2019s ambassador to Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>According to the office, the meeting discussed strengthening friendly ties between the Taliban administration and Saudi Arabia, expanding bilateral cooperation and continuing relations between the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Abdul Wasif thanked the Saudi ambassador for his activities and for the kingdom\u2019s assistance to victims of the recent earthquakes, saying the Taliban administration wants to strengthen its relations with countries \u201con the basis of mutual respect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021, Saudi Arabia has maintained diplomatic relations with Kabul, and its embassy in the Afghan capital has remained open.
