Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting foreign minister of the Taliban administration, has travelled to Russia to attend the eighth Moscow Format meeting on Afghanistan, where political and economic cooperation, counter-terrorism and drug trafficking are set to be discussed.<\/p>\n
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public information and relations at the Taliban Foreign Ministry, said on Sunday, 12 Mehr, that Muttaqi will speak at the meeting about the current situation in Afghanistan. According to him, Muttaqi will also meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the meeting.<\/p>\n
The eighth Moscow Format meeting is scheduled to take place in Moscow tomorrow. According to Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, special representatives and senior officials from Russia, Iran, China, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will attend.<\/p>\n
