The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has said that an online meeting with the Russian Council for Trade Cooperation discussed expanding trade, investment and transit routes between the two sides.<\/p>\n
According to the report, Syed Karim Hashimi, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, and Dmitry Antonov, head of the Russian Council for Trade Cooperation, also discussed the creation of a joint technical committee and a trade council. Banking facilities and business visas were also among the key topics of the talks.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, the two sides also reviewed the development of transit routes between Afghanistan, Central Asia and Russia. The issue could affect the movement of commercial goods and business ties between the parties.<\/p>\n
According to the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the Russian side expressed readiness to cooperate and invest in agriculture, mining, energy, oil refining, industry, railways and infrastructure. It also stressed the importance of strengthening direct contacts between Afghan and Russian traders.<\/p>\n
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment is a private sector body that plays a role in linking traders and economic institutions.
