Pakistan\u2019s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected allegations by the Taliban administration that the country was involved in clashes in Nuristan and Kunar, calling the claims baseless.<\/p>\n
In a statement posted on X on Sunday evening, 27 September, the ministry said it did not accept claims that Pakistan\u2019s security forces or intelligence agencies had been involved in any fighting in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani ministry said videos circulating on social media, which purportedly showed an admission of Pakistan\u2019s role in the incidents, were a \u201cfalse claim.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Pakistani body also accused the Taliban administration of trying to shift internal dissent abroad by making such allegations and of justifying the repression of women, children and minorities.<\/p>\n
This comes as Taliban-controlled media, citing some officials from the administration\u2019s Ministry of Defence, have published videos of the clashes in Nuristan and Kunar and claimed that people backed by Pakistan entered Afghanistan from the Durand Line and fought against the administration\u2019s forces.<\/p>\n
Nuristan and Kunar are eastern Afghan provinces along the border with Pakistan. Because of their mountainous terrain and proximity to the Durand Line, they have repeatedly seen security tensions and reciprocal accusations between the two sides.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
