Russia\u2019s Defence Ministry said its forces have taken control of three more settlements in northeastern Ukraine, including two in Kharkiv region and one in Sumy region.<\/p>\n
According to the ministry, Russian forces captured the settlements of Petropavlovska and Lozovaya in Kharkiv region as part of an expansion of a buffer zone. It also said operations were continuing to encircle three other settlements in northeastern Kharkiv.<\/p>\n
The Defence Ministry added that its forces repelled two Ukrainian attempts to break the encirclement in the area. It said a group of around 10 people was also targeted during the fighting.<\/p>\n
Moscow also claimed that Russian forces captured the settlement of Marino in Sumy region in a separate offensive operation. According to the Russian Defence Ministry, positions and equipment belonging to several Ukrainian brigades were also targeted in this sector.<\/p>\n
The ministry further said Ukrainian forces suffered more than 1,300 casualties across various fronts of the war over the past 24 hours. Russia also said it destroyed Ukrainian military equipment and shot down four guided bombs, two HIMARS rockets and 1,222 drones.<\/p>\n
