The Taliban administration said Hedayatullah Badri, acting minister of mines and petroleum, inspected the ruby extraction process during a trip to the Jagdalak area of Sarobi district in Kabul province.<\/p>\n
According to the ministry, the focus of the visit was on ensuring that the contractor’s commitments are implemented and on addressing the needs of local residents.<\/p>\n
The Taliban-run Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said the acting minister had asked the company Ariana Highland to carry out its obligations in line with the terms of the contract. It also said the company was asked to pay serious attention to providing social services for local people.<\/p>\n
According to the Taliban administration, Badri also listened to the problems and suggestions of residents in the area during the visit and assured them of cooperation in resolving these issues. However, the ministry did not provide details on the type of social services, the timeline for implementing the commitments, or the level of work progress.<\/p>\n
Jagdalak is located in Sarobi district of Kabul province, an area where some mining activity is also under way.
