The spokesperson for Pakistan’s presidency has warned that provocative actions by the Taliban administration against the country could lead to an escalation in tensions and heavier political consequences for the administration. He said that confrontation with Pakistan would only deepen the Taliban administration’s problems.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, 2 Mizan, Mortaza Solangi said in reference to drones attributed to the Taliban administration that its belief that a few “flying toys” could frighten Pakistan was mistaken. He added that no confrontation would distract Pakistan from its diplomatic efforts for regional and global peace.<\/p>\n
Solangi also accused the Taliban administration of breaking its commitments, repressing people at home and restricting women and girls. According to him, the administration is steering public opinion against Pakistan by stirring religious and nationalist sentiments.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson for Pakistan’s presidency said that continuing this path would further isolate the Taliban administration and that “cross-border adventurism” could carry even heavier political consequences for it.<\/p>\n
These remarks came as, in the early hours of today, parts of the provinces of Khost, Kandahar and Paktia came under Pakistani airstrikes.
